Proud parents don’t have to wait long before seeing their children tread the boards in the South East Gang Show.

More than 80 scouts and guides will take to the stage at The Wilde Theatre in South Hill Park in the annual half-term performance.

Sandra Siddey has been involved with the scouts and guides since 1978, first as a band member before helping organise the production.

“On Sunday we rehearsed the opening and it was absolutely brilliant,” she said.

“We’re doing a shortened version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat which almost everyone is in and they’re all really great.”

The variety show, which will run at the theatre in Birch Hill, Ringmead, Bracknell during half-term from Monday, February 16 to Saturday, February 21.

“The children come from lots of different groups,” explained Samdra.

“They all make brilliant friendships and are like one big family by show week.

“We’ve got groups from Ascot, Bracknell, Crowthorne, Sandhurst, Finchampstead and a few from Wokingham so they get to meet people they normally wouldn’t.

“By the end of the week we’re all very tired but then we start planning straight away for the next year because they start rehearsing in September and we need to have the script and all the music ready by then!”

Tickets for South East Berkshire Gang Show are £13 for week night performances and Saturday matinée and £15 for Saturday night. They can be purchased from South Hill Park’s box office by calling 01344 484 123 or by visiting www.southhillpark.org.uk .
